Welcome to the website of The Damascus Road. We are hoping to plant a Reformed Baptist Church in the Des Moines, Iowa area and anticipate meeting regularly in Polk City for a weekly Bible study. The word "Reformed" identifies our heritage and our goal. The work of God during the Protestant Reformation of the 1500's is a large part of our heritage and men like John Bunyan (author of Pilgrim's Progress), Benjamin Keach, Charles Spurgeon, and A.W. Pink have defined this historic and biblically rich tradition. Our goal is to see the Body of Christ reform to its God-centered identity and faithfulness to God's Word. Our doctrinal convictions are in harmony with the theology of the reformation and summarily contained in the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689.
